Ben Rogers

Born and raised in Hanover County, Ben graduated from Hanover High School and Hampden- Sydney College. An avid football fan, Ben played the sport for 16 years of his life and while at H- SC, won two conference championships and was named an AFCA First-Team All-American. Ben graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and at HSC’s Commencement in 2012 he won the Gammon Cup which recognized character, scholarship, and athletics. Throughout childhood and college, Ben became known to his teammates and classmates as a tireless worker obsessive over preparation and attention to detail, and frequently found himself in leadership positions on and off the football field. Today in the professional world, Ben is known by his teammates, clients, and business partners as that same person: a connected leader with a nonstop work ethic, always prepared for what’s next.

After earning his real estate license in 2012, Ben put a positive attitude at the forefront of his business and ultimately earned Hometown Realty’s Treat People The Way You Want To Be Treated award in his first year with the firm. Ben worked as an individual agent for two years before starting The Rogers-Long Team: Powered by Hometown Realty in 2014. Today as the Team Leader of a perennially top-producing team, Ben’s primary objective is to drive the team’s mission to build an army of people that does good, becomes better, and strives to be the best. Although “real estate” doesn’t exactly define what Ben is most passionate about, he truly believes that real estate is a vehicle that God has entrusted him with to make the world a better place – first and foremost, through his work with his teammates. Ben also serves as a Junior Partner at Hometown Realty, the largest and highest producing locally owned firm in Central Virginia.

In 2017, Ben started The Bottom Line Podcast which posts weekly episodes of THURSDAY FIRE, a short message written by Ben that’s meant to encourage, inspire, and serve as a call to action, and semi-annual recordings of The Underground Huddle, which features conversations and interviews with established leaders in sports, business, and other areas of life.

After encouragement from teammates, business leaders in his network, and most importantly, his wife, Ben founded BUILD Coaching Company in 2019 with a vision to be a resource for and a connector of current and aspiring leaders. BUILD is a performance coaching business that uses practical leadership experience in sports, small business, and other areas of life to build leaders and teams in similar arenas. Since its inception, BUILD has worked with hundreds of leaders and teams in and out of the state of Virginia. One of Ben’s favorite parts about BUILD is working with his brother, Sam, who works with leaders and teams to enhance team culture and develop unbreakable mindsets. The mission of the company is to build an army of Disciplined Leaders.

In 2018, Ben married the love of his life Emma, who he met at Hometown Realty in 2013. Ben and Emma have two children: a daughter, Elliott (2020), and a son, Fisher (2021). The Jolly Rogers reside in their hometown of Hanover County in the Hickory Hill subdivision. In their spare time, you can find The Jollies hosting back porch and patio parties with friends and family. When not at home, Ben and Emma are probably on a quick weekend getaway, usually visiting out-of-town friends. In the rare scenario when Ben isn’t with Emma, Elliott, and Fisher or at the office, it’s probably because he’s found an excuse to watch football or play golf!

Supporting the community is of high importance to Ben, where many of his charitable efforts are committed to youth sports – particularly for the Hanover High School football team and the Blue Star Youth Football organization.
