Monday Motivation: Positive Energy = Positive Results

Monday Motivation: Positive Energy = Positive Results

Monday Motivation, 8.14.7

Written by: Kevin Long

Every Monday, The Rogers-Long Team meets for one of its 2 weekly meetings. The Monday meeting always ends with “Monday Motivation” in which a few minutes is spent listening to one team member presenting a quote, a quick reading from a book, a scene from a movie, or anything else they find motivating to provide a “spark” to the whole team on a Monday morning. In Kevin’s words…

“There is direct correlation between positive energy and positive results.”

-Joe Rogan

I believe your mindset can be one of your largest attributes. It could also be what holds you back from attaining your goals. People want to surround themselves with people who are positive. Very seldom do you see a negative person surrounded by a lot of friends. If you gravitate towards people who go about their day in a positive manner, then some of that positivity should rub off on you. The exact opposite can be said if you find yourself hanging around negative people.

There are many phrases and sayings out there: “success breeds success”, “what goes around comes around”,  “karma”, “treat people the way you want to be treated”. At the end of the day, it’s the same general message: BE POSITIVE!

I know that I personally try to avoid negative people, thoughts, and actions. There is not enough time for me to dwell on all of the negativity and still get done what I need to get done. Do I have off days where there is a constant storm cloud above my head? Sure I do. It’s important to shake that cloud, so it doesn’t hang over you the whole day or carry into the next day. I do small things to get myself back on the positivity train.  Sometimes I need a break to clear my head or get away from the computer screen. I will jump in the car, turn on the radio and drive around for 20-30 minutes.  Something else I like to do to be positive is I always hold the door for strangers. I can’t think of a better use of those 5 seconds.  In turn, you just made a positive impression on that person. A simple smile and thank you can turn your day around.

The more positive I am, the easier it is to pick up the phone and make the phone calls I know are necessary. The more calls I make, the more leads I generate. The more leads I generate, the more deals I close. The more deals I close, the more positive I am. It all starts with your mindset. Don’t dwell or focus on the negatives. Learn from them, and find a way to turn them into a positive.  You will accomplish more and enjoy it more if you choose to be positive along the way.
