Monday Motivation: Persistence Gets It, Consistency Keeps It

Monday Motivation: Persistence Gets It, Consistency Keeps It

Monday Motivation, 8.21.7

Written by: Kaitlyn Gwaltney

Every Monday, The Rogers-Long Team meets for one of its two weekly meetings. The Monday meeting always ends with “Monday Motivation” in which a few minutes is spent listening to one team member presenting a quote, a quick reading from a book, a scene from a movie, or anything else they find motivating to provide a “spark” to the whole team on a Monday morning.

Setting goals is something that I’ve always done; however, I did not attach realistic timeframes to achieve them. When people would ask me what my goals were, I would start the sentence with “one day…”. Over the last few months, I’ve really gained a new desire to achieve my goals. Whether they are personal, business-related, long term goals, or even something as small as a daily decision, I have a new determination to reach them.

One of the biggest things I’ve learned while being on The Rogers-Long Team is to not only write out my goals, but to time block my calendar to work towards them. Even if it’s only 15 minutes per day, make it a staple on the calendar and get it done. Of course, you can set a goal and persistently work full speed to achieve it, but why not schedule a consistent time each day so you don’t lose focus on other daily tasks? If you are persistent you will get it, but if you are consistent you will keep it. Not everyone needs to know what your goals are or that you completed them. Clap for yourself, use that motivation and excitement to help you get to the next goal. Accomplishing small goals only leads to reaching your larger goals. You owe it to yourself, get it done!

Kaitlyn Gwaltney, a Realtor with The Rogers-Long Team since 2016,  previously worked in the medical field for 6 years before deciding to shift her compassion and dedication toward helping others in a different direction. The RLT excitedly brought Kaitlyn on to work with buyers and sellers due to her humility, inner drive to succeed, and her fun-loving attitude. Kaitlyn has found a lot of early success in her career on The Rogers-Long Team, and even sold her own personal home and bought a new one with her husband this year!
