Monday Motivation: Would you read a book about YOUR life?

Monday Motivation: Would you read a book about YOUR life?

Monday Motivation, 11.13.17

Written by: Tracy McGuire

Every Monday, The Rogers-Long Team meets for one of its two weekly meetings. The Monday meeting always ends with “Monday Motivation” in which a few minutes are spent listening to one team member presenting a quote, a quick reading from a book, a scene from a movie, or anything else they find motivating to provide a “spark” to the whole team on a Monday morning.

If someone wrote a book about your life, would you read it?

My husband has been known to say this to me from time to time.

It always motivates me to GO FOR IT and make decisions that make me a better Tracy!  After a year in the real estate business and ways of searching how to get to the top, the one thing that encourages me is running and listening to podcasts. The Oct 9th run/podcast between Tim Ferris & Richard Branson had a lot packed into it.  Richard Branson: Billionaire, entrepreneur, fly by the seat of his pants, throw caution to the wind, has been known to bet the farm.  He is the master at mitigating risk and capping the downside.  Richard too said “everybody should write a book about their lives”.  He talks about negotiating, risk taking, and personal fulfillment and has persuaded a number of people to write & I hope YOU WILL CONSIDER IT!  Richard wrote his book 50 years after he started his first business, no rush.  It’s all about the content.  You don’t have to lead a public life, really, we all have interesting lives and here’s your push for Monday.  Interesting being the key word.

We should all be reading and learning from each other.  Make your life a gripping story, enjoyable, and always consider your reputation.  Humor is important.  Cracking jokes and keeping it lighthearted. Put on a brave face when you need to. Stay focused and positive. Put it this way, if you are the host of the party and standing in the corner….. everyone will have a dull party. If you are the host of the party and you are the first to JUMP IN THE POOL now you are picking up the chapter.  Set the tone. Put yourself on the map…TAKE YOURSELF SERIOUSLY and GO FOR IT and make decisions that make you a better YOU!

Share your story with me later, it will make my day.

Tracy McGuire, a Realtor with The Rogers-Long Team since 2016, previously has worked in many creative professions including the art department for commercials, television, and movies in Hollywood. While working in L.A., Tracy bought her first home and enjoyed the process so much that she began working with her Realtor’s team as an assistant. In 1998, Tracy moved back to the east coast to raise her children in Richmond and 18 years after the move back home, she earned her real estate license. The RLT excitedly brought Tracy on to work with buyers and sellers due to her commitment to grow, her powerful energy, and most importantly, her motivated attitude. Tracy has found a lot of early success in her career on The Rogers-Long Team, and has worked with clients in and out of the city of Richmond and has even gone as far as Lake Anna to get the job done!
