Monday Motivation: Impact Over Income

Every Monday, The Rogers-Long Team meets for one of its two weekly meetings. The Monday meeting always ends with “Monday Motivation” in which a few minutes are spent listening to one team member presenting a quote, a quick reading from a book, a scene from a movie, or anything else they find motivating to provide a “spark” to the whole team on a Monday morning.
“Life is about making an impact, not making an income.”
Whether it be a positive impact on others, on a project, or even an impact on yourself, strive for positivity in every aspect. Understanding how to positively influence the world around you is a key to success no matter which profession you are in. No one will remember the monetary contributions that you made to others or yourself. Instead, they will remember the actions you took in order to impact their lives.
I know there are many quotes out there that remind us not to focus on money. A quick one that comes to mind is “money isn’t everything”. I also understand people who say “money isn’t everything, but it helps” and I agree. However, if you are able to create and/or leave a positive impact on someone else’s life, the income will show up in your wallet on its own. Your targeted income will be unobtainable and unrealistic if relationships are not prioritized over transactions. Make a strong impact and you will make a strong income.
