Monday Motivation: Positive Mind = Positive Life

Monday Motivation, 1.8.18

Every Monday, The Rogers-Long Team meets for one of its two weekly meetings. The Monday meeting always ends with “Monday Motivation” in which a few minutes are spent listening to one team member presenting a quote, a quick reading from a book, a scene from a movie, or anything else they find motivating to provide a “spark” to the whole team on a Monday morning.
I am first to admit that I occasionally have a negative outlook, but I took it upon myself last Jan 2017 to attempt a more positive outlook: to constantly remind myself that even with terrible events, there is something positive within it.
Last year was my attempt at a “pay-it-forward movement”: do unto others as you would have them do unto you, be the change you wish the world to see, etc. Putting positivity out into the world can start with the simplest act, like holding the door open for someone, letting a car merge over, or helping a friend in need. What harm can there be by being nice? Yes, there are times when you feel that your nice act is not appreciated but that’s ok. Don’t let someone’s negativity affect you, it’s not worth ruining the moment or your day.
So stay positive, it is a lot easier than being negative.
While doing my research for this week’s Monday Motivation, I stumbled upon this blog which I think says it best.
Enjoy and do something positive for yourself and someone else.
