Episode 18 of The Bottom Line by Ben Rogers features an interview with Brennan Marion, Offensive Coordinator for the Bison football team at Howard University. Despite multiple challenges & setbacks like changing schools every year growing up, friends getting shot, a mother getting arrested, being homeless, and season-ending knee injuries, Coach Marion has bounced back from it all. After setting NCAA records at Tulsa University as a wide receiver, Brennan had a 2-year stint in the NFL before beginning his coaching career. When asked what pieces of advice he’d give someone who says they’re sick of living a life of mediocrity, Brennan says “The first thing I’m going to ask them is ‘Are you doing what you love to do?’ The next thing I’ll ask is ‘What do you want to do?’ The third thing I’m going to tell them is to put all your energy into what you want to do. And then fourth and final, is to make a goal…and then have somebody that is going to hold you accountable to those goals”.
