Monday Motivation: What’s Your Target?

Monday Motivation: What’s Your Target?

Monday Motivation, 4.15.19

Written by: Kevin Long

Every Monday, The Rogers-Long Team meets for one of its two weekly meetings. The Monday meeting always ends with “Monday Motivation” in which a few minutes are spent listening to one team member presenting a quote, a quick reading from a book, a scene from a movie, or anything else they find motivating to provide a “spark” to the whole team on a Monday morning.

If you aim at nothing, you will hit it every time. –Zig Ziglar

It is amazing what accomplishments you can achieve when you put your mind to it. Impossible is nothing. We hear phrases like this all of the time. Entire marketing campaigns are based around pushing oneself to achieve extraordinary things. I personally see it often times in athletics. I have also realized that people at the top of their professions, across a wide array of subjects all have extremely lofty goals. They hold themselves and others accountable to achieve what they are aiming for.

Having a target gives you something to aim at. Belief that you can achieve the goal, leads to little changes that push us towards that goal. By believing, persevering, and some will power we can achieve our goals. Our subconscious kicks into gear and helps us along the way. We get out what we put in. Provide yourself some positive reinforcement. Stop the negative talk and shut out the people who don’t believe in you or what you are trying to accomplish. You are on a mission and those thoughts and people are obstacles.

What are you willing to sacrifice in order to make it happen? In order to change for the better we have to take a look at what needs to be cut out or changed. Is it the amount of sleep you are getting? Is it what you are eating? Is it what you are watching? Is it what you are listening to? Is it WHO you are listening to? Determine who or what it is holding you back. Plan a way that you will alter that thought or behavior.  You have control over what happens next. Set a goal, put a plan in place, execute and see what happens. You will be surprised about how close you come, to what you aim at.

Kevin Long, The Lead Agent for The Rogers-Long Team, has been in the real estate business since 2012. In 2014, he and Ben began The Rogers-Long Team, which produces $25,000,000+ in volume annually. In addition to selling hundreds of houses over the past 6 years, Kevin also serves as a mentor to less experienced agents on The RLT and in the company, and he spends most of the little free time he has working on his own personal home renovation project.
