Monday Motivation: No, Your Mindset Sucks

Monday Motivation, 7.8.19

Every Monday, The Rogers-Long Team meets for one of its two weekly meetings. The Monday meeting always ends with “Monday Motivation” in which a few minutes are spent listening to one team member presenting a quote, a quick reading from a book, a scene from a movie, or anything else they find motivating to provide a “spark” to the whole team on a Monday morning.
Most people know by now that I’ve been out on maternity leave for the last two months after having our daughter. While it has been the absolute best thing to ever happen to me, it has also come with its own challenges. Disrupted sleep schedule, endless amounts of diapers, spit up on just about every outfit, and baby clothes/toys everywhere – just to name a few. That being said, I can remember quite a few 3am feedings where I found myself complaining about how tired I am or how crazy expensive diapers are these days. But why? I’m sure I am a little biased, but we were blessed with the most perfect baby girl! I should be thankful for the sleepless nights and our ‘new normal’. It’s so easy to focus on the negatives in our world instead of being thankful for what we have. The next time you find yourself in a slump, tell yourself “no, it doesn’t suck”. Mondays don’t suck, your genetics don’t suck, the rainy weather doesn’t suck. Your negative mindset sucks. You once wished for what you have now so stop complaining and go manifest the crap out of your dreams.
