Monday Motivation: Walking Into 2020

Monday Motivation, 12.16.19

Every Monday, The Rogers-Long Team meets for one of its two weekly meetings. The Monday meeting always ends with “Monday Motivation” in which a few minutes are spent listening to one team member presenting a quote, a quick reading from a book, a scene from a movie, or anything else they find motivating to provide a “spark” to the whole team on a Monday morning.
We are coming up on the end of a decade, pretty crazy huh. And this year like every other year, millions of people will make a New Year’s Resolution and most people will have more than one. Most will be the typical resolutions, I want to lose weight, I’m going to spend less money, I’m going to eat healthier. I know those are always the popular ones, and once again will be mine, but what if starting this new decade I reflected on what really matters and how I can make a real difference in my life and the lives of the people I come in contact with. I came across this on Instagram that a friend shared and it really hit home.
I’m walking into 2020…
…with a clear heart and mind.
If you owe me, don’t worry about it – you’re welcome.
If you wronged me, it’s all good – lesson learned.
If you’re angry with me, you won. I’ve let it go.
If we aren’t speaking, its cool (I love you and wish you well).
If I’ve wronged you, I apologize. It wasn’t intentional.
I’m grateful for every experience that I have received.
Life is too short for pent up anger grudges, extra stress or pain.
Forgiveness is a gift to yourself.
Make 2020 a year of forgiveness and a season of positivity.
Let’s walk into 2020, a new decade letting go of the things that are deep inside and bothering you. Make the call to someone you miss. Say I’m sorry to someone you may have wronged. Be the friend you want in return. This year I will BE a better wife, mom, sister, daughter, friend, teammate. Let’s all make 2020 the year that you can honestly say that you became a better person. Not because you lost the weight, or stopped biting your nails (again), but because the relationships you made better with others. Don’t get me wrong, I need to lose weight, I need to spend less and I need to eat healthier and I will do those things, but if I can be a better person, have a healthy mind, my body will follow. Being happy inside will help the rest of what I want easier to obtain.
I will see you all at the gym, and you will see me there smiling and happy. Not because the scale is down, ok well that will be part of the reason I am smiling, but the smile will because my heart is full and I am working on me and being a better Dawn for all the world to enjoy. After all, I am a member of the RLT where…
My Attitude is Everything,
My presence is my greatest attribute,
Relationships are more important than transactions.
Even in my day to day life!
Dawn Paciocco joined The Rogers-Long Team in September 2018 as the team’s Client Care Coordinator. Dawn spent 17 years in the financial services industry and much like Stacy, was first a client of Ben & Kevin’s before joining the team. After a couple years discussing the possibility of Dawn joining, The RLT excitedly brought her on due to her fun-loving attitude and belief in the team’s mission to build an army of people that does good, becomes better, and strives to be the best.
