Monday Motivation: Four Steps to Succeed

Monday Motivation: Four Steps to Succeed

Every Monday, The Rogers-Long Team meets for one of its two weekly meetings. The Monday meeting always ends with “Monday Motivation” in which a few minutes are spent listening to one team member presenting a quote, a quick reading from a book, a scene from a movie, or anything else they find motivating to provide a “spark” to the whole team on a Monday morning.

The Four- Step Checklist to Overcome Obstacles

The Four-Step Checklist by Scott Jurek

Have you ever gotten to a place where you are ready to stop or give up. If so, you are not alone! You can try this Four-step checklist to overcome obstacles.

Number 1.  Let yourself feel how you are really feeling and acknowledge it.  That could be exhausted, in pain, hungry, etc.

Number 2. Take stock.  Are you mad because you forgot to do something, did something you did not have to do, pushed yourself to hard doing something, etc.

Number 3. Ask yourself, what can you do to remedy the situation.  Are you willing to stop whether it be exercising, something work related, preparing for a big test, etc.

Number 4. Separate negative thoughts from reality.  Don’t dwell on feelings that aren’t going to help.

Once you go through this checklist, your mind will give you the answer.  I know for me, I use this frequently with running.  I start to feel tired and I acknowledge it.  I take stock of where I am and what my goal is, then I weigh my options and lastly I separate the negative thoughts from what I am doing.  That can always be one of the hardest parts but I have to go back to how important the end goal is to me whether I am training for a long race or running a Marathon.

What are some things you do that this Four-step checklist can help you through to succeed?

Ashley Gershowitz joined The Rogers-Long Team as a realtor in November 2019. Ashley has been in the real estate business since 2015.   Ashley is learning the RLT ways of working by referral. She came from a team where she worked mainly with Zillow leads and is super excited to now give back to her past clients that have given her so much. She loves helping people find that special house that they can see their future in and create a lasting relationship with her clients.   Her favorite way to see the Richmond area is on foot so feel free to wave if you see her on the road running.
