Monday Motivation: What A Time To Be Alive!

Every Monday, The Rogers-Long Team meets for one of its two weekly meetings. The Monday meeting always ends with “Monday Motivation” in which a few minutes are spent listening to one team member presenting a quote, a quick reading from a book, a scene from a movie, or anything else they find motivating to provide a “spark” to the whole team on a Monday morning.
What a time to be alive!
It goes without saying but there is a lot going on right now. For some it is business as normal. For others lives are turned upside down. Daily life may change and we do not know what tomorrow will bring us. We cant control everything but we can control what we bring to life, today. There has not been a better time to slow things down. While people are focusing on what they CANT do, we have the opportunity to focus on what we CAN do.
Worrying puts you mind in a bad spot. You spend hours on end, running through worst case scenarios, putting your mind and mental health through the ringer. Its like feeding our brain, a binge diet of fast food when we know it is not healthy. A lot of people will be focusing on the problems surrounding us and complaining about how things should be done. Not me.
I will be focusing on the opportunities that present themselves. This time will allow me to spend more time with my fiancé. I will be able to focus on projects that I just haven’t had the time to get around to. I will spend more time on my phone, reaching out to people that need help. I get to focus my time on who and what is important to me. I get to take time to myself and focus on how I can make myself better each day. I am reading books instead of watching tv. I am walking a few miles through the neighborhood instead of scrolling through facebook.
Life will go on. Our daily normal will change but our mission will not. I will focus on today, each day, and work to build an army of people that does good, becomes better and strives to be the best.
What do you GET TO DO today?
