Monday Motivation: Clear Your Path

Monday Motivation, 5.4.2020

Every Monday, The Rogers-Long Team meets for one of its two weekly meetings. The Monday meeting always ends with “Monday Motivation” in which a few minutes are spent listening to one team member presenting a quote, a quick reading from a book, a scene from a movie, or anything else they find motivating to provide a “spark” to the whole team on a Monday morning.
“If only that hadn’t happened, life would be so good.”
The goal is to travel down a smooth paved road in life. In reality, we are travelling uphill on a cobblestone road, filled with potholes and boulders. Life, is the obstacles we face and encounter along the path. There is not a predetermined path or road for us to follow, only obstacles and how we handle them. How we handle those obstacles, determines where our path leads. It will not be a straight road but one with twists and turns. Obstacles can be avoided or attacked head on. How we choose to navigate and handle the obstacles, will determine the path we go on and how we handle them in the future. We can see the road behind us, but only envision the road ahead. As we learn how to navigate obstacles, the path clears. We start to learn how to avoid pot holes and boulders. The more we encounter, the better we navigate, the smoother and clearer the path becomes. Obstacles we face today, make it easier to navigate in the future. Rely on your own past experiences with obstacles to determine what works best to clear your path. Learn and reflect from those previous experiences and obstacles. Use that knowledge and experience to turn boulders into potholes. Pot holes into cobblestones. Cobblestones into pavement. Clear your path, one obstacle at a time.
