Monday Motivation: Write Your Own Headline
Monday Motivation, 6.29.2020

Every Monday, The Rogers-Long Team meets for one of its two weekly meetings. The Monday meeting always ends with “Monday Motivation” in which a few minutes are spent listening to one team member presenting a quote, a quick reading from a book, a scene from a movie, or anything else they find motivating to provide a “spark” to the whole team on a Monday morning.
See the world through people, not headlines. Although tough to tell at times, we are all loving beings. We have much more in common than we are led to believe. If you were to turn on the tv or open a newspaper, and read the main caption or the headlines, you would see a lot of arguments, negativity and hate. If you think the world around you is crumbling, you need to look past the headlines and look inward and see the world around you. It is clear that there are agendas and ulterior motives in all sorts of media (tv, print, online). These outlets are for profit. Negativity sells and business is a booming. In a world of some much negativity, what can you do to inject some positivity?
I challenge you at the end of each day to go back and write your own headline. Reflect and remind yourself of what good you did for others today? Push yourself out of your comfort zone and start thinking differently. Remove all of the other factors that you cannot control (President, government, media etc) and focus on what you can. Make a positive impact on one person today. Repeat that daily. Positivity and negativity are both contagious. You have the ability to cut out all of the uncontrollable negativity in your life and start writing your own headlines. The world around you starts with you. Create a better world for yourself and you will create a better world for all of those around you!
Today I will call people who support me and our team’s mission. Today I will impact people by writing handwritten notes. Today I will spend time with a friend, face to face (and do my best to bring a smile to it ?) Today, I will write my own headline.
