Monday Motivation: 7 Steps

Monday Motivation, 8.17.2020

Every Monday, The Rogers-Long Team meets for one of its two weekly meetings. The Monday meeting always ends with “Monday Motivation” in which a few minutes are spent listening to one team member presenting a quote, a quick reading from a book, a scene from a movie, or anything else they find motivating to provide a “spark” to the whole team on a Monday morning.

“We are not a team because we work together. We are a team because we respect, trust, and care for each other.” – Vala Afsar
This is not a normal Monday Motivation for me, however when I saw this, it really seemed to fit The Rogers-Long Team mentality.
7 Key Steps of Motivation & Inspiration
- Clear Goal Setting
If you do not have a clear goal set, what are you really working towards? The RLT breaks down their goals into weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly goals
2. Empower Your Teammates
How many of you can say that you know your teammates goals? We share our goals with it other. It helps everyone to know their goals & help get them there.
3. Provide Support
Ask how you can help! Even if they don’t need it, asking can be huge. If you know you have the support of your team, it can make getting there easier. Wouldn’t you want the support?
4. Communicate your Vision
Let your teammates help keep you accountable. If you have a goal and keep it to yourself, are you really likely to make it? Communicating your vision with others allows you to be held accountable and help you hit those goals.\
5. Show Appreciation
Showing appreciation to those who help you along your path can be great motivation. Gift cards for referrals, lunches, pop bys gifts, all are ways to show someone that you appreciate them and their help.
6. Know your Audience
Know your clients’ family names, pets, work place. Knowing personal things about the people you surround yourself with not only makes them feel good but also deepens the relationship. We all know that relationships are more important than the transaction! Find commonalities with them to help deepen relationship.
7. Professional Growth and Development
By helping others, you can also help yourself to learn more & grow in your personal and professional life.
