Monday Motivation: Positive Mental Attitude

Every Monday, The Rogers-Long Team meets for one of its two weekly meetings. The Monday meeting always ends with “Monday Motivation” in which a few minutes are spent listening to one team member presenting a quote, a quick reading from a book, a scene from a movie, or anything else they find motivating to provide a “spark” to the whole team on a Monday morning.
Every day we make choices. Each choice can be categorized into two different categories. Choices can be made with a positive or negative, mental attitude. You have to have a desire to maintain a positive mental attitude. Negative mental attitude can creep in every now and then. It is vital to recognize and be conscious of when the negative mental attitude takes over. Every adversity has the seed, of an equivalent or greater benefit. Are you going to grow or let the weeds grow up around you?
Never underestimate the repellant power of a negative mental attitude. If you dwell on the negative, you will not realize life’s lucky breaks, when they are presented to you. We need to develop inspirational dissatisfaction. Rearrange your attitudes and convert a failure of one day in to the success of another.
Do you learn from choices or let them bring you down? Each setback or failure is a test to your desire and perseverance. When we attack issues with a positive mental attitude, we don’t dwell on the problem. We go to work to find a solution or find a way to prevent it from happening again in the future. Having a positive mental attitude must be continuous and steadfast. The more of a habit that you make it, the better the results. Replace worry with faith and apply your positive mental attitude to all you do in life. When you have a “joy of work” it allows us to give greater love and serve others.
