Emily Porter
Born and raised in Chesterfield County, Emily graduated from Manchester High School and Longwood University where she completed her undergrad in Mass Communications – Public Relations and Marketing. While at Longwood, Emily served as Vice President of her sorority, worked for the University as a Writing Tutor, and got her first taste of real estate as a Market Assistant at an apartment rental company. After graduation, Emily spent five years working in new construction for a local builder from Hanover, RCI Builders. It was there she discovered a passion for new construction processes and the real estate world. In spring 2023, Emily decided to make the change from working behind the scenes in new construction, to helping people directly through the exciting process of buying or building a new home.
After working alongside RLT Lead Agent, Kaitlyn Gwaltney, for many years at RCI Builders, Emily decided to join forces with their team having learned the emphasis they place on relationships and serving others. Emily values the relationships she creates personally and professionally, believing that surrounding yourself with good people who work to serve others is not only essential to success, but leading a fulfilled life. She takes pride in her work ethic, positive attitude, and commitment to helping others.
Emily has lived all around the Richmond area, including Chesterfield, the City of Richmond, Hanover, and currently in the convenient, yet peaceful, town of Lakeside in Henrico County. She can be seen walking her English Springer Spaniel, Laney, attending Richmond festivals with friends, or spending time on the river at Colonial Beach with her family.
