Kevin Long
Born and raised in Hanover County, Kevin attended Hanover High School and James Madison University. At JMU, Kevin studied History and Education and even doubled as a baseball and football coach at a local high school in Harrisonburg. After deciding that teaching was not the route he wanted to take, he was licensed in July of 2012 in order to represent you in the purchase of a home.
A salesman at heart, Kevin has always had a knack for getting a good deal. Growing up, he would go to yard sales with his father, who is a master woodworker and collector of antique tools. Finding used tools and cleaning them up, Kevin would sell them on eBay for more money than he bought them for! With this attribute in mind, Kevin decided to get in the real estate business in order to help educate home buyers on the buying process – all the way from prequalification to closing! In the summer of 2014, Kevin joined up with Ben to help form The Rogers-Long Team.
Since being licensed in 2012, Kevin has won multiple real estate awards. In 2017, Kevin was awarded the “Treat People the Way You Want to Be Treated” award by Hometown Realty and is a consistent winner of the Richmond Association of Realtors Outstanding Production Award. In 2019, he became a Junior Partner at Hometown Realty.
Kevin married his wife Hannah in 2020 and have two boys Teddy (2021) and Franklin (2023). Outside of real estate you can find Kevin on his back porch, playing golf, or watching his favorite baseball team, the Pittsburgh Pirates.
The Longs are not afraid of taking on a house project. This allowed Kevin to see firsthand what it takes to take on renovation projects – big and small – which comes in handy when advising buyers and sellers. After completing 8 years of home renovations, Kevin and his family recently built a home outside of Ashland. When it comes to real estate, Kevin has firsthand experience with buying, selling, new construction and investment properties.
